The West Glamorgan campsite is located at Penmaen in the Gower Peninsular. The site is situated in a largely undeveloped and unspoilt area which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; overlooking the wide sweep of Oxwich Bay to the west with Three Cliffs Bay to the east, and is approximately 8 miles from Swansea.
The site is two miles from the West Glamorgan Guide Activity Centre at Parkmill. A path leads from the site to the beach.
The site is fully equipped for five patrols and staff.
Cooking equipment is available for either patrol or company cooking which can be used on gas or wood fires and a concrete shelter is provided for the use of gas stoves.
There is a large wooden hut which stores the equipment, it also has mains water and electricity, a fridge, small freezer and water boiler and can provide alternative accommodation in extreme weather.
There are three electric showers and four toilet cubicles each with a hand basin. There is also a disabled toilet and shower.
A trek cart is available in the hut to transport kit from the car park to the site.
A flag pole and pioneering poles are stored in the hut, but campers are required to bring their own flag and ropes.
The Camp site is open from 1st April – 31st October.
